Elaine Gebert Photography bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

Autobiographies are tough because I never know what to say about myself or how I can even sum myself up in a few words!

There are the obvious things such as, I'm a photographer, and also a lady. And I can list things I love as so: Weddings, babies, commitment, sunshine, sweaters, shoes, music, movies, reading, cuddles, comics etc etc..

But in a photography bio, I suppose I'm supposed to talk about why I love photography. But it's hard for me to describe it. How can I explain how much I love shooting weddings and capturing young love, or how photographing children makes me feel like a kid again, or even how I'd do a photo shoot every single day if i could without it sounding hokey?

Basically, I'd love to be a part of your special day, whether it be a beautiful wedding, your family spending time together, or just you and I making some awesome images!

There’s a lot of happy people around these days!

At first, I wasn’t entirely convinced on this whole olympic thing. I wasn’t against the olympics per se (let’s not get into it =p ) but I wasn’t exactly thrilled either.

When I was sitting in Dylan’s (my boyfriend) living room, waiting for the opening ceremonies to start, I really didn’t know what to expect, but by the end I was stunned. They were amazing! And at that point I was hooked. I’ve been watching all the events I can (and i’m not a sports person) cheering on our Canadian athletes. It’s sooo entertaining!!

But the sports are actually not my favourite part about the olympics. I’ve been downtown a couple times since the games started, and WOW. It is jam packed with people, Vancouverites, Canadians, Americans, and people from all over the world! It’s awesome. Everyone is smiling, and checking out the sights and the events. I normally don’t enjoy crowds of people, but the energy is incredible downtown. I love it.

Here’s a photo of the cauldron I somehow managed to get on Saturday (the gap in the fence is WAY to high…i couldn’t look through my viewfinder!!)
