I had such a wonderful time photographing Geah & Elle. Elle is such a sweet baby, and she was so happy the entire time!

Candice & Joe – Vancouver Engagement Photography

You might recognize Candice from a previous portrait session we did together. You might also recognize Joe, because he made an unexpected (to him) appearance in that same session.

Back then, they were boyfriend and girlfriend. This time, they were in front of my camera as a newly engaged couple.

We met in Stanley Park on a rather chilly & cloudy evening, but the light was oh-so-beautiful (as was the couple!)

During Kristie & Keith’s garden shoot my fiance, Dylan, was lending a hand with whatever help I needed. It’s always nice to have him at shoots when I can, he’s always making everyone laugh, ready to lift or move anything heavy, and of course, most importantly be a coat & purse rack.

This time I gave him my backup camera, and let him take some behind the scenes photos, which I’ve never had before! It’s, umm…interesting to see the strange positions I can work myself into to get certain shots!

Anyhow, I chose the least ridiculous ones to share with you, along with a few shots we took around the neighbourhood of Kristie and Keith while we were waiting for the light to be perfect in our garden location.

Sharlene Portraits – Vancouver Portrait Photography

I’m sure by now you all have seen the wonderfully romantic bridal collection by Anthropologie, B H L D N . These gowns are vintage, they’re ruffly, and o-so-romantic. I also love the bridesmaids dresses. Here’s hoping I get to photograph one of my brides in one of these fabulous gowns!

The wet, cold, winter weather makes scheduling outdoor shoots much more difficult. Sharlene and I rescheduled twice before we got this absolutely beautiful day to shoot!

In any case, I think the photos turned out beautifully, and I’m excited to show this little sneak peek!

Travel, Proposals & coming back to winter.

Well, Dylan and I have been home now for about 3 weeks, and getting back into the swing of normal life. Spending 2 months in South East Asia was incredible – every day was a new experience, seeing and doing amazing things and meeting amazing people. I already miss it! Although it’s nice to not be living out of a backpack anymore!

Not only did I come back with many pretty souvenirs, lovely photos, and even better memories, I also came back engaged!

Yep – Dylan proposed in Luang Prabang in Laos. I assure you, it was romantic, and beautiful and half way across the world in one of the most remote countries in Asia! We are super excited, and can’t wait to start planning our wedding! (I am going to have so much fun!)

Coming back to Vancouver was a shock. Wow. It was COLD. We went from 35 degrees to about 5 degrees and a couple days later minus 2!! But I couldn’t let that stop me from doing a little portrait session with Jen – because 2 months is too long to go without taking some lovely portraits of my friends. So I bundled up, and Jen, unfortunately, didn’t….but we took some lovely pictures, and here is one of them (because blog posts with no pictures are boring!)
